I bought this about four years ago thinking I might try a SxS again and as bit of an investment but I have only shot it once. It was purchased from Kelbrook Shooting Ground and they have a direct contact with ex Greener employees and are restoring these. N.B. This gun is quite rare as it has the 'scalloped' action more associated with Greeners 'premium' guns like The Imperial and Crown grade offerings. The gun is in first class condition having undergone a full restoration and comes with the original brass cornered oak and leather case good straps and handle with a refurbished interior and faux trade labels. The gun itself has been fully and tastefully restored with all the furniture having been reblued. It has excellent wood and retains its original butt plate, the wood is free from dings and dents of any kind and has good colour, with almost a 3D depth to the grain. It might be improved by a more 'developed' oiling finish but I left it as I got it. The checkering is crisp and clean with good points and finish. The plus for this gun is the barrels, both bores are 30thou+ so close to factory original very nicely struck and finished with a fresh blue, the other draw to me is that it has a raised cross milled rib, not quite a Churchill rib but high enough to give a single sight plane which is what I struggled with before. The barrels are nitro proofed and, of course, in current proof. This is a lovely gun with some age to it but reliable to meet todays game shooting demands.
