Up for sale is a used Columbian Type X Model 1900 BB air gun. Brass barrel measures about 12" under a removeable shroud. Barrel shroud is mostly gray patina with brown staining with the knurled end still retaining some nickel finish. Cast frame features a floral motif with dogs and game animals on either side and “1900” on the left side of the wrist. Finger lever is mostly brown patina with handling marks, has a slight bend and doesnt sit well on the hinge and favors one side when closed from spring pressure. Smooth wood stock has been refinished at some point and shows a putty repair on the toe line and has a large chip at the toe which looks to have been previously repaired and the chipped piece is included but there are a couple small missing slivers and the buttplate was broken and reglued to the chip at some point as well. Barrel does not index into the muzzle hole on the barrel shroud and the end plug for the shroud has some play in it.
Air rifle is sighted with a small front bead and what appears to be a homemade replacement notch rear that has some play in its mounting.
Produced by Bailey & Smith sometime around 1900 under the Columbian trademark with only a handful known to have existed. Non-gun.
