This 1861 ANTIQUE COLT 1855 SIDEHAMMER POCKET MODEL 5 in .31 Cal. is in approx. 75% antique condition. .31 cal., 3 1/2 in. round barrel. "COL. COLT NEW-YORK" barrel address. Serial range 2,401 to 8,000. Blue with case hardened lever and hammer, one-piece wraparound style walnut grips. Commonly called the "Root" Model by collectors, manufactured 1855 through 1870. Easily recognizable by its side mounted hammer and cylinder rotation ratchet at rear of frame. Serial No. 33xx. Barrel bore is bright, clean and has great rifling. Action works great. Half cock and full cock notches are good. Approx. 75% of blueing is left on the metal surfaces. Comes with a black soft case.
