Model 1873 Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Ivory Grips, Mexican Silver Coin Sight, & Factory Letter, .45 Cal, mfg. 1879. This is a good early Colt Single Action straight out of the Old West. The included factory letter confirms the gun's original configuration as .45 caliber, barrel length not listed (standard 7 ½"), blue finish, stocks not listed, shipped to Schuyler, Hartley & Graham, New York, New York, on September 23, 1879. Schuyler, Hartley & Graham was one of the premier firearms retailers during the Wild West era and sold countless guns to hardware stores and individuals across the world through their popular catalogs.
Perfectly clear original barrel address, three-line patent dates, “45 CAL” marked triggerguard, and matching serial number “36069” stamped on the frame, triggerguard, and backstrap with partial number “6069” on the barrel and cylinder. Original hammer, trigger, cylinder pin, loading gate, ejector housing, and bullseye ejector with brass spring. The screws are probably all original but several are marred and a couple sit high. The action cocks with a nice firm mainspring and cycles the cylinder with a few issues.
