ANTIQUE PRE-CUSTER US MODEL 1873 TRAPDOOR SPRINGFIELD RIFLE-MFG 1874

Good condition original antique US Model 1873 Trapdoor Springfield Rifle in .45-70 caliber that is serial number 29xxx, which dates it to manufacture in 1874. This pre-Custer gun has all of the early features including early style markings, early rear sight, and high arch breech block. Mechanically functions fine. Metal has brown and gray patina. Bore is good with strong rifling and some oxidation and pitting. Stock shows some wear and handling marks and was probably sanded. Complete with correct original early pattern cleaning rod.
