Antique Winchester 3rd Model 1873 Lever Action Musket 44-40 44 WCF W Letter

Up for sale is a used, antique Winchester 3rd Model 1873 lever action musket chambered in 44 WCF/44-40 Win. Barrel measures 30 1/8" in length with a mostly bright, good bore with scattered frosting and scattered light to moderate pits. Metal surfaces have been cleaned to a mostly gray patina with scattered scratches, nicks, dings, areas of staining and scattered pitting. Musket style smooth wood forend and straight grip buttstock show added gloss varnish over older deep dings, dents and scratches with some older shallow chips along the woodline of the forend. Rifle is sighted with a blade front and folding rear ladder. Markings remain fairly clear on the barrel, lifter and tangs and the finger lever screw head shows slot damage. Hammer holds at half and full cock and the finger lever stays in place. Included with the rifle is a Winchester factory letter indicating the rifle was built in 1891.
