Belgium Liege Ring Trigger Pistol .34 Bore T.J. LHoist Percussion 1853-73

This is a Belgium Liege T. J. LHoist “Ring Trigger” Pistol. It is an engraved percussion 6-shot shot Antique in .339 Bore. It was made circa 1853-73.

This T.J. LHoist “Ring Trigger” percussion revolver features: (1) 4-7/8” octagon smooth bore barrel in .339 Bore. Barrel is push pin style. Barrel has serial number 4917 on bottom. (2) The ring trigger engages with the large striker for a strong ignition strike to the percussion cap. (3) The grip is full sized with two piece walnut and fine checkered. (4) The cylinder carries punches of the proof house of Liege (Spangled ELG in an oval with a star) - acceptance of 1853-1877. It also is stamped “N” crowned is the final inspection mark from a controller (see pictures). (5) There is nice scroll work on the receiver both sides, top rear sight, top tang, ring trigger, and bottom of the butt. (6) The right side of the barrel is marked (2 T.LHOIST / BREVETE). It most likely is part of a two gun set. (7) The grip has a pointed “Scallop” handle Belgium / French style. (9) Butt cap is typical Belgium / French style fit to the stock. Some engraving on the butt cap.



The condition is Very Good: (1) All metal parts seem to be blued steel. (2) The barrel and cylinder are more polished and retain more finish than the action. (3) Grip is all original finish and VG condition with very little handling wear. (3) All action metal parts are still strong surfaces and have original finish. (4) The bore is good, there is some sheen with light pitting and some frosting throughout
