This stunning high-grade English 12 ga. SxS made by W&C Scott & Son in 1897 just came in on consignment and she is special. 25" barrels with gleaming bores, 2 3/4" chambers and choked cylinder and improved cylinder. They ring like church bells just as they should, and she has ejectors. The receiver is fully engraved, and the work is outstanding. The wood.
The wood is luxurious. I don't know exactly what kind of walnut this is, but it is magnificent. The fit to the receiver is tight and perfect and the other end wears a black spacer and a red leather recoil pad. There are no cracks or splits. I measured the stock to the best of my ability with a tape measure and a long cleaning rod taped to the barrel. The length of pull is as follows. Front trigger to the rear of the pad is 14 1/8" and to the end of the wood is 13 3/8". Rear trigger is 13 3/8" to rear of the pad and 12 1/2" to the end of the wood. I see a small amount of cast to the right. Drop at the comb is 1 3/4" and at the heel 2 3/4". She weighs 6.5 lbs.
Good luck. If you have questions, please feel free to send an email.
