This is the best 1886 we have offered in a while! A fine, special order big bore Winchester model 1886 rifle. Made in 1896, chambered in the desirable .45-70 Govt. Extra length 30" octagon barrel (4 inches longer than standard), full magazine. Letters with the Cody Firearms museum and will come with a serial number search sheet confirming the configuration. This is a very honest model 1886, and the only extra length 45-70 that I have encountered in years. The receiver has traces of bright original case coloring with the balance having turned to a nice untouched mottles silver/ light patina with some light freckling. The barrel and magazine tube have nice original plummy blue with some handling wear and a few small areas of staining and corrosion as well as a few marks. The bore is very good with an overall shiny appearance, and a few light scattered pits. I rate it 8/10. Stocks are very good having no major issues, light to moderate wear overall, not refinished and no cracks. The action locks up tight and is like new. Ships fully insured and will be packaged very well. Antique, No licence required
