Fine Early Cased Remington No. 1 “Saw Handle” Vest Pocket Deringer, Nickel Plated with Ivory Grips, .22 Cal, mfg. 1865-1888. This is a very early production unmarked example in fantastic original condition. Overall it retains approximately 75% bright original nickel finish with most of it's loss confined to the left side of the frame which has partially thinned to silver/gray with some scattered superfine pinprick pitting. Bright fire bluing visible on all sides of the hammer. Original ivory grips fit perfect with no chips or cracks and have a lovely mellowed color. Original screws, trigger, and post front sight. The action is remarkably crisp and functions flawlessly like new. Bore shows very sharp rifling with moderate/heavy pitting toward the breech. The pistol is housed in an attractive well made velvet lined wood case. An awesome little Wild West gambler's gun!
