From our collection is this extraordinary Antique Smith & Wesson Model 1½ 2nd Issue Tip-Up Revolver, chambered in .32 Rimfire with a 3.5" barrel and early post-Civil War construction, dating to approximately 1869–1870. This incredibly rare example has been expertly master engraved with full coverage scrollwork and is real sterling silver plated, featuring subtle fire blue and color case hardened accents for dramatic contrast. The grips are a stunning high-grade set of genuine barked ivory, exhibiting heavy black figure and a flawless tight fit with no cracks or issues.
Mechanically excellent with a surprisingly nice bore showing only one minor isolated spot of pitting. Locks up tight and cycles properly. Overall condition remains pristine, especially for a revolver manufactured just after the Civil War. This is a true showpiece from one of the greatest living American engravers on a genuine antique Smith & Wesson revolver.
