We are very proud to offer this stunning culmination of superb gun making craftsmanship. This gun, by far, is the most unique and labor intensive firearm we have ever offered. We have fielded high grade guns by Purdey, Bertuzzi, Browning, LC Smith, Parker, Fox, Beretta, Manton, Rizzini, and countless others, but this target rifle embodies more engraving, wood carving, checkering, and artistic flare than any other gun we have handled. I see why the Swiss are known for making fine timepieces, as the same precision can be seen here. With makers like Hammerli, SIG Sauer, and Tanner, I don't think the Swiss know how to make a bad gun. This fine rifle was made by Johannes Hofstetter in Horgen, a city in northern Switzerland.
The features are very unique. The barrel is 32 inches long, with what appears to be a bayonet mount on the right side. The nicely figured stock is near full length to the barrel. The sights are the most precise we have ever seen. The front has a fine bead, with good contrast and a windage adjustment with indicator. The barrel mounted rear sight is infinitely adjustable with a simple elevating screw. It also slides on a graduated ramp with index marks. The tang mounted peep sight takes over when the barrel sight is maxed out for elevation. The large 1 1/2 inch disc is key adjustable for windage and elevation. It is case hardened for durability and reduced glare. The Martini style action has the shortest throw of any we have examined, and the tightest lockup, thanks in part to a frame mounted lever retainer. We are not sure of the chambering, but the bore is about 11mm, possibly 10.4mm. She is equipped with adjustable set triggers. The Swiss butt plate and cheekpiece make this rifle fit like a glove, and it is a pure pleasure to take aim. While heavily engraved on almost the entire gun, the panel scenes on the receiver are simply amazing.
The sling mounts will accept wide leather. Gold bands add sparkle and a touch of class. The bore is in good condition, with plenty of shine and strong rifling. There are but minor handling marks on this rifle, and it must have received good care. If you are looking for a stellar firearm that will draw more attention than about any other, then look no further. Good luck, gentlemen!
