We are Brit proud to offer this seldom seen and important version of Colt's Single Action Army.
The Colt Archives letter refers to the "short barrel", as the 7 1/2 inch was standard, and the 4 3/4 inch barrel had not yet been made. Along with the special barrel address and British caliber, this revolver boasts the early features of a bullseye ejector handle, caliber marked on the left rear trigger guard, and serial numbers on the barrel and cylinder. She is in very good condition for being 145 years old. The blue has drifted to a pleasing patina, the frame still has generous amounts of smoky case color, with a few flashes of blue, no less. The one piece grip is very good, and fits like a glove. The action still produces 4 clicks, and locks up fairly tight. Even the bore of the 5 1/2 inch barrel is good, with plenty of shine and strong rifling. There are a few scattered patches of light roughness, but remember, these early guns were fed a steady diet of black powder. This wheel gun comes housed in a very nice English case, complete with a cartridge block, oil bottle, screwdriver, and key.
If you are an advanced Colt collector, and do not have one of the early London address guns, then look no further.
