Nice Belgian NJ Dessard Top Break Double Action Engraved 9mm CF Revolver

Up for sale is an attractive Belgian NJ Dessard top break double action revolver chambered in a 9mm centerfire cartridge, possibly 9mm Belgian Nagant. Octagon barrel meaures 5" in length with a mostly bright, lightly frosted bore with visible rifling and scattered light to moderate pitting. Metal surfaces retain about 65% fire blued finish with noteable gray toning on the grip straps, trigger guard and along the right side of the frame along with scattered handling marks, high edge wear and some freckled staining and there is a dent on the lower barrel flat. Hammer and trigger are in the white and show some freckled staining and dried oil. Checkered hard rubber grip panels show some worn and broken points in the checkering with scattered small handling marks and the inside of each panel was what looks like some spots of silver paint and are scratch marked with a design similar to a British "Broad Arrow". Revolver is sighted with a gunmetal patina colored front blade with some chipping along the rear face and a notch rear. Revolver features fine floral and scroll engraving along the sides, grip straps, trigger guard and cylinder that shifts to minimal engraving along the top of the barrel. Left side of the barrel is marked with a serial along with a small proof and "NJ Dessard/Brevete/ACIFR Fondu" while the left side of the grip frame is marked with a tiny "LB" under the grip and the right side is marked "B7" under the grip. Star ejector does light, but doesnt "Fire" and may only function as an extractor instead of ejector but timing appears good with some minor to light play in cylinder lockup and barrel to frame fit and lockup appear solid. An attractive revolver from sometime in the 1870's that should make a nice addition to your collection. ANTIQUE, no FFL or C&R needed unless your state/city stipulates otherwise.
