Up for sale is an original Spanish Model 1893 Mauser rifle, chambered in 7mm Mauser, in good condition for its age. Manufactured in 1896 at the Loewe & Company (Lau & Berlin) factory, this rifle is a scarce example of an early war-era Mauser, likely a veteran bring-back or one of the limited Bannerman imports that entered the U.S. as surplus in the early 1900s.
This rifle retains all matching serial numbers—no visible mismatches anywhere. The finish is approximately 70–80% intact, fading to a gray patina that is consistent and solid across the rifle. It sports a 30-inch barrel with a strong bore featuring sharp lands and grooves—an impressive feature for its age.
Mechanically, the action functions smoothly with no bolt hang-ups or issues, reflecting the quality craftsmanship Mausers are known for. The stock shows expected handling marks, but no cracks, gouges, or structural damage. Cartouches remain visible and well-preserved, adding to its authenticity and appeal.
This is a hard-to-find, early example of a Spanish-American War Mauser that would make a superb addition to any advanced Mauser or early military rifle collection.
