A hard to find, above average condition pre-1899 "Antique" big bore Winchester Model 1892 takedown rifle. Made in 1893. Chambered in the desirable 44-40 WCF. 24" octagon barrel, full length magazine. Letters with the Cody Firearms Museum and will include a factory letter confirming the configuration. Also comes with a wonderful antique leather takedown case as shown. This is a very honest looking rifle with a crisp action. The receiver has a lot of it's original bright early high polish bluing. The high points are worn to a silver. Lever and hammer even still have some case color remaining. The barrel has nice original finish as well with light wear. Numerous old rust spots/freckling overall. The bore is very good with scattered light pits, overall shiny with strong rifling - I rate it 9/10. Wood is good with some old wear and dings, but no major issues. The varnish is original. The action locks up tight. A great looking early 1892. Ships fully insured and will be packaged very well. Antique, No licence required
