Super cool late 1800s JP Sauer “Bar” pistol. This is the first one I've handled and it is a really neat little gun. Sort of a bridge between a typical compact pocket “Derringer” type and a revolver. Four shot magazine block with two bores. Fire two shots in quick succession then rotate the magazine to fire two more. Apparently most of these were in 7mm Bar rimfire – this one is in 6.35mm / .25ACP so it should be one you can shoot if you like. Condition is excellent as seen, and mechanical function seems to be in good order. Serial number 3203 on frame under left grip panel, on magazine block, and “203” visible on trigger. Grips are sound and the original manual ejector rod is still present in the butt. A seldom seen late 19th century pocket gun.
