On consignment is this Springfield 1873 .45-70 Trapdoor rifle. The bore is mirror bright and the owner told me that the rifle shoots very well. The wood shows a lot of dings and scratches but no splits or cracks. There are visible cartouches on the stock. The metal surfaces look good with some freckling but no heavy pitting except for the butt plate. Mechanically everything looks good. My research shows a production date of 1876 so an ANTIQUE that can ship directly to the buyer if legal in their area. Serial number (71542).
