One of the best antique Colt Lightning small frame rifles I have ever had the pleasure of offering. Made in 1888 chambered in .22 rimfire. 24" round barrel, 2/3 magazine. Shipped to the John P. Lovell Arms Company on August 6th, 1888. The receiver has a lot of nice original blue with some turning a light patina. The barrel and magazine tube are also a nice original blue with some turned to a plum patina and have some handling wear. The bore is very good with only light roughness - way above average. The wood is very good as well. The action locks up tight and is very crisp. Stocks are good with the forend handle having a couple of small chips. A fine old lightning! Ships fully insured and will be packaged very well.
