This is a Whitneyville Armory Model 1 revolver in .22 short. Approximately 3500 of these black powder revolvers were made in CT from 1871-1879. It features a bird’s head grip, spur trigger, octagonal 3” barrel, and a seven-shot cylinder. It is in nice condition and fully engraved. The mechanism works flawlessly but the lockup is slightly loose. The bore and chamber have some pitting. This is a black powder antique and not intended for modern smokeless ammo!
