The 1858 Remington New Army is a percussion revolver that was produced by the Remington Arms Company from 1863 to 1875. It was a popular handgun during the American Civil War and was used by both Union and Confederate forces. The revolver had a solid frame and a loading lever under the barrel, which was used to ram the lead balls and powder into the cylinder chambers. The revolver was known for its durability and reliability. It was favored by many soldiers for its accuracy and ease of maintenance. This Italian reproduction was made by Pietta and imported by Taylor’s in 2023 and has a steel frame. It is in Fine Plus to Excellent condition with a nice bore and a sound action. This revolver will make a great addition to any black powder firearms collection.
