This is an exceptional example of the 1917 bolt action service rifle. It was made by Eddystone. Serial number indicates it was made in 1918. It was rebarrelled sometine in the past with a Johnson Automatics barrel. The barrel has the flaming bomb arsenal mark and the initials "JA" on top of the flaming bomb. The walnut stock is in very good condition with several scattered nicks and light gouges. There are a large number of stamps in the area of the stock cartouche signifying this rifle's long history. The bore is in good condition with generally shiny grooves and fair lands with some light pitting here and there. I would rate the bore as 6/10. There are no alterations or missing parts on this gun. The action functions fine and the safety works. This is a CMP gun sold in 2008 and comes with the Certificate of Authenticity issued by the CMP.
