Winchester Model 71 "The Special Rifle" 348 W. C. F .348 Win.

This is a well Carried Rifle. The action is tight! Made in 1936, Serial number 5887. It is completely original. 24" barrelI, bright and shiny. I did buy an aftermarket front site hood. The reciever was not drilled for the peep site as so many folks have told me is incorrect. They were not drilled until serial number range 24300 - 26000. You could of had Winchester drill and install a variety of sites at the time. This rifle was made for the 348 W.C.F. cartridge exclusively, however a few were made in 45-70 and 308 W. Type 1 Barrel Address. The Barrel is uncrowned in the whitemuzzle face. They all were until serial number 18995-27527. Basically it is a first year producuction if you figure they only made 477 in 1935.
