As the title suggests, this rifle is a Colt M4, but not just an ordinary one and they are rarely seen on the market. It is patterned after the military M4A1, which is equipped with the SOCOM 14.5 inch "heavy barrel" that measures about .840 " under the handguard but had the same "government" profile as the military Colt M4, that had a 3 round burst capability. This heavy barrel is NOT an HBAR.
This is manufactured for civilian use, is 16" in length, not the military length of 14.5 inches, so it could be could be purchased by civilians without having to register it as a short barreled rifle (SBR). The SBR version can still be purchased today with a shortened barrel and flash hider pinned and welded to the barrel, thus achieving the magical length of 16 inches legally. This rifle weighs 7.8 pounds, and has a Matech rear sight and an F-marked FSB to compensate for the higher flat top receivers. They were originally equipped with a Knights Armament front rail, but in late 2013 Colt switched to Troy drop in rails. This firearm was manufactured in October of 2013 and has the Troy rail and Magpul furniture. It is in very good to excellent, lightly used condition.
