Manufactured by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM), this is a Model 1900 "American Eagle". The Model 1900 was the very first production Luger pistol.
This pistol was manufactured in early 1901 specifically for the commercial American market and is factory rollmarked with the Great Seal of the United States over the chamber.
This pistol retains its original finish and is in very good condition. All serial numbered parts are properly matching.
The pistol shows some honest wear from use and there is thinning to the finish along both sides of the barrel, the sharp edges, and grip straps. I'd grade the original rust blue finish about 75% overall.

The grips are original and properly serial numbered to the pistol.
This pistol is in excellent mechanical condition with everything working as it should. The bore rates good with strong, sharp rifling that is dark in the grooves but free of any deep pitting and remains perfectly shootable. The nickel body/wood base magazine is in very good condition, retaining most of its finish and free of dents, cracks or chips. This early Luger comes with a tooled commercial holster that appears to be original to the gun. Impressions of the toggles and frame rails have molded themselves into the leather itself.
