Here's a WWII German K98k rifle that was manufactured at the Mauser Berlin-Borgiswalde factory in 1943 (receiver code "ar 43"). This rifle is set up as a Zf-41 Sniper Rifle with the forward mounted "scout style" rail and scope arrangement. The rifle is mostly matching with the receiver, bolt, bolt shroud, safety, firing pin, extractor, bolt stop, trigger guard, magazine floor plate, trigger, and rear sight assembly all matching.
The stamped lower band, stock, and handguard are matching to each other but numbered to a different rifle. The scope mount is also numbered to a different rifle. Both the scope base and scope mount are marked with the E/214 waffenamt indicating manufacture by Berlin-Lubecker Machinenfabrik. The scope is code marked "cxn" indicating manufacture by Busch A-G, Emil, Optische Industrie, Rathenow. Both front and rear sliding rain shields are present. There are no import markings on this rifle. Overall condition is very good with most of the blue finish remaining.
There are no cracks or repairs.
A eagle/H German Army acceptance is still faintly visible along the right side of the butt and both the stock and handguard are externally marked "100". This rifle functions well and has an excellent bright bore with sharp rifling. The scope mount locks snugly onto the base with absolutely no "wiggle". The scope appears to function fine and the optics are decent with the typical post reticle that shows a some debris in the sight picture. An unmarked cross-hatched leather sling and cleaning rod are included. While not completely original "as issued" and all matching, this is a good representative example of the WWII German Zf-41 Sniper Rifle.
