This is a very fine condition and very rare Tranter Third Model Revolver in .442 caliber (54 Bore) in its original English case with original accoutrements. This revolver is in the serial number range of known Tranter Revolvers purchased by the Confederacy in the last two years of the Civil War.
The original, one-piece English Walnut Grips are present. The checkering is beautiful and remains very crisp and there are no cracks or chips noted. The butt cap is factory engraved and is secured by a large, engraved single-slot screw.
The bore is in fine condition with strong rifling.
The pistol is contained within its original English casing and appears complete with all of the correct accessories.
The case is loaded with wonderful Tranter revolver accessories, all of which are contained in compartments. Included in the casing are the following original accoutrements.
The blued sprue cutter is in wonderful condition, functions smoothly and retains about 95% of its original blue finish.
This Revolver is an antique and can be shipped to anyone.
