Here's a P.08 Luger that was manufactured for the Kaiser's troops in 1913, just prior to the start of WWI. Manufactured by the Erfurt arsenal, this pistol is all matching (except the magazine), and has its original finish. There are no import or "Germany" export markings and it was likely a GI capture. Most of the finish remains with the most significant wear being patches of finish gone from the rear grip strap.
The matching numbered grips are in very good condition with only light wear and no cracks or chips. The mechanics are in good working order and the bore is very good showing strong, sharp rifling that is only very lightly frosted. The magazine is not numbered and shows more wear than the pistol. About 23,000 Erfurt P.08's were manufactured in 1913. Overall, this a very good example of a relatively uncommon P.08 Luger.
