Here's a completely original Remington "New Model" Army revolver that was manufactured for the Union Army during the American Civil War. A .44 caliber black powder percussion revolver.
It wears an 8" octagon barrel that is marked "PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION NEWYORK. U.S.A./NEW-MODEL". The frame and barrel are matching, serial number 94091. The various components have the single letter military inspection markings and the left grip panel is marked with the original "BH" script stamp of sub-inspector Benjamin Hannis indicating final military acceptance.
Overall condition is very good.
This revolver functions perfectly with good timing and lock-up. The chambers are clean and the bore is in very fine condition, mostly bright with sharp rifling and just a small amount of slight scattered erosion...about an 8.5 on a 10 scale.
Buyer pays £25.00 for postage.
