Daniel Moore and David Williamson designed the special teat-fire cartridge to circumvent the Rollin White patents. Moore was a serious competitor to Smith & Wesson and because of their strong sales record the company was Purchased by Colt in 1870
Condition: 3 ¼” nice bore with a couple of very minor pitting spots and still showing strong rifling. Blued metal finish has faded and turned to an attractive antique looking gun-metal grey patina. The brass frame has a small amount of silver plate still showing in spots. All serial numbers are matching and barrel markings are clear and somewhat legible. Original walnut grips are in very good condition with a couple very small dents and still retains varnish with wear on the other edges, the usual wear and tear for a revolver of this age. Both grips are numbered to the gun. Mechanically the revolver works very good in single action , half and full-cock positions with good timing and lock-up. To remove the cylinder, you remove the barrel wedge, remove the barrel, then unscrew the cylinder lug. This model also has the hooked side extractor. This is a complete original revolver. A small custom case is also included for displaying this really nice revolver.
